What are Nuts?
Nuts are fruit with seeds that can be consumed as dried or fresh, which are among plant food products, often called nuts. There are many different types of nuts around the world, and they are generally a rich source of protein, fat, fiber, minerals and vitamins.
Nuts are usually sold unsalted or lightly salted, and there are different types. Some common nuts include almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, peanuts, cashews, pistachios, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Some are sweetened, while others are sold naturally. Nuts can be used in many different recipes, salads, snacks, desserts and drinks.
Consumption of nuts provides many health benefits. For example, nuts such as almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts contain unsaturated fatty acids that are beneficial for heart health. They are also rich in magnesium, zinc and other minerals. Nuts also have antioxidant properties and can help boost the immune system.
